Tom Mentis Obituary
82, of Scottsdale, went to be with the Lord unexpectedly December 22, 2009. Born November 17, 1927 in Decatur, IL, son of William and Alexandra Mentis, Tom grew up in Decatur and was a U.S. Army Veteran. He and his wife Paula moved their family to Arizona 39 years ago from Illinois. He was a restaurant owner in Decatur and most recently a notary agent. Tom is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Paula; son Bill (Donna) Mentis; daughters, Sandra (Jim) McNally and JoAnn (Steve) Andro; grandchildren, Stephanie, Victoria and Adrionna Andro, Sebastian and Xanthe Mentis; sister Connie Kaklamanos and mother-in-law, Joan Methenitis. Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 2-4pm Sunday, December 27th at Messinger Mortuary, 7601 E. Indian School Road, Scottsdale. A Memorial Service celebrating Tom's life will be held at 11:00 am Monday, December 28th at Phoenix First Assembly of God Prayer Chapel, 13613 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ, with a reception immediately following the service. Please visit www.messingermortuaries.com to send a condolence to the Mentis Family.

Dearest Paula and family, We were sadden by Tom's sudden death. His devotion to his family and especailly to you, his wife was always evident. His friendliness as a neighbor, making us feel guilty with his long daily walks, his sense of humor, being a man of his word and contributing to our community with his chairmanship will always be remembered.
