William Betchner Obituary
On Tuesday, April 20th, 2021 William (Bill) Betchner 81, passed on peacefully with family at his side. Bill is preceded in death by his wife Anita who passed in 2016. He is survived by his four children, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Bill was born on September 2nd, 1939 on a farm near New England, North Dakota. He graduated from New England High School in 1957. The following year he joined the military and spent the next twenty-four years serving in the Army. His military career would see him serve overseas on several occasions. On his first tour to West Germany, he met, fell in love and eventually wed the love of his life, Anita. After retiring from the military, Bill sought a second career in Civil Service, which brought him to full retirement age. Bill and Anita settled in Surprise, Arizona where they spent many years enjoying their Golden Years, being with family, friends and traveling about.
If there is a God, and he is a kind and loving God, we can only hope and have faith that he will deliver our Dad to our Mom so that they both may find peace. We love you Dad, Pop, Vater, Grandpa and Opa. You will be dearly missed…Rest in Peace.
Services for Bill and Anita as they will be interred together will be at 2:30 pm on Friday, May 21st, 2021 at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 North Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ 85024. An Army Honor Guard ceremony is scheduled and the interment viewing will follow.
