William Bruce Obituary

Bruce, William E.
Age 86, passed away on May 1, 2010. Bill was born in Indianapolis, IN on December 29, 1923. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years Thelma, his children Diane Jacobson and husband Dale, Bonnie Blandford and husband Carter, Edward Bruce and wife Katherine, Rebecca Tavlarides and husband William, and Gail Gaskins, his sister Annette Gates, 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Janice Corak. Bill proudly served his country in the Army during WWII and worked for Bell Telephone/ Mountain Bell for 37 years. He will be remembered for his strong faith in the Lord and his love and devotion for his family. Visitation will be 5-8 PM, Friday, May 7 at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 W. Northern Ave., Glendale with a Prayer Service at 7 PM. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 8 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 14818 W. Deer Valley Rd., Sun City West. Interment will be at Resthaven Park Cemetery, Glendale. Donations may be made in Bill's memory to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 East Flower Street, Phoenix, AZ 85014.

Bill was a dear, sweet loving father and husband. I grew up with his children and we all moved to Arizona from Indiana together in the 1950s. I will treasure my memories of him and the times we spent together.
