Gordon Dierks Obituary

Gordon Rollo Dierks passed away on May 29th at his home in Flagstaff, Arizona at the age of 72. He was born in Monticello, Iowa on July 26th, 1944. He attended local schools and graduated from Iowa State University. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy after college and served in the Vietnam war. After serving on active duty, he continued serving in the Naval Reserves and retired as a Commander after 30-plus years of service. Most of his working life was spent in the aerospace industry and ended at Northern Arizona University working with contract negotiations. He enjoyed gardening, motorcycling, serving as V.P. of the Military Officers Association, and the Green Bay Packers. He is survived by his wife Cathy of 50-plus years, son Brian (Kenya), daughter Rachel, grandson Nickolaus (Kristin), granddaughter Thairyn. He is also survived by his sister Cindy (Kurt) Gunther, brother Neil (Kristie) Dierks as well as many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Winnoa Dierks and brother Errol Dierks. There will not be a memorial service and in lieu of flowers...please support your local military veterans.
