Arthur Cecil Johnson

Art/Ace

Feb. 6, 1927-Oct. 10, 2002

On Thursday morning, October 10, 2002, Arthur Cecil Johnson, 75, was lifted up into Heaven with the angels to join God, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. He was warmly embraced by many relatives and friends that had crossed over before him, they will have a grand celebration. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2002 at 10 a.m. on the Hill of Valor, with full military honors.

Arthur was born on February 6, 1927, to William Edgar Johnson, Sr. and Eva Frances Johnson (Salazar), in San Diego, California. Arthur served his country in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII where he traveled across the Atlantic ocean on a Naval ship to work in Le Havre, France and Germany. He was a Heavy Equipment Operator.

Arthur spent most of his adult life in Bakersfield, California. As a heavy equipment operator he worked for Kern County Land Company, Tenneco, Hegeblade Margulis, Tenneco West, and retired from Kern Delta Water District at the age of 65. He was a member of the 2 Gallon Club at Houchin Community Blood Bank, a member of the NRA, and a life member of the North American Fishing Club.

Arthur was easy going and down to earth. He had a great sense of humor, he loved his family, music and going out dancing, he loved to read, watch movies, drawing and oil painting, carving, singing, whistling, traveling, fishing, new cars, time pieces, chairs, and electronics. Arthur is a gentle soul, he loved the mountains, nature, and animals. He left behind his black miniature schnauzer, Aces Wild Ebony Rose (Bobbie) and KrackerJaxx who stayed by his side day and night.

Arthur had four wives (Mary, Doris, Sharon, and Madeline). He is survived by his son, John Marshall Johnson (Johnny) and his wife Hope, their four children Jennifer, Jessica, John and James and 2 great grandchildren of El Cajon, California; his daughter Kathy Louise Geniesse (KitKat) and her husband Raymond Joseph Geniesse, Jr., their three children, Anneliese and her husband Eric and 2 great grandchildren, Jasmine and Vanessa of Bakersfield, California; step-daughter Jerry Ellen Van Wagner and step-son Thomas Lester Kiker and their families; step-daughter Treslyn Brudvig and her son Michael of Bakersfield. He is also survived by his brothers William E. Johnson, Jr. (Mickey) and wife Judy of Big Bear, California; and Charles Johnson (Chuck) and his wife Corrine of Henderson, Nevada and their families. And his cousin, best-friend, and brother of the heart, Richard Arthur Johnson, Sr. and his son Richard A. Johnson, Jr. and family of Portola, California; his friend Devi Gehani and many more family and friends.

Please come and join us in the celebration of Arthurs new found peace and joy, where his beautiful voice can be heard laughing and singing with the angels and he sits on soft clouds painting or fishing for God and reminiscing with family and friends who have passed before. Daddy, you are loved and missed more than you could ever know but we are blessed in knowing that you are healthy now and happy once again. We will love you and miss you Forever! Until we meet again in heaven.
