Services: Friday, Sept. 19, 10 a.m.
Services will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Chapel, 3700 River Blvd., for Fred O. Wyrick, 70, who passed away of cancer, September 15, 2003, in Bakersfield. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Mr. Wyrick was born on November 24, 1932, in Missouri. After retiring from 26 years of service in the FAA at Meadows Field as an Electronics Supervisor, he volunteered at Rasmussen Senior Center where he loved to shoot pool with his many friends. His other favorite pastimes were cooking, gardening and watching the Anaheim Angels play baseball. Mr. Wyrick was a devoted family man, spending much time with his grandchildren.
Mr. Wyrick was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. F.G. and Ethel Wyrick, sister, Mary Aaberg and brother, Wesley Wyrick. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Hattie Wyrick of Bakersfield; daughters and sons-in-law, Dee and James Webster of Arkansas, Wanda and Daniel Mahoney of British Columbia and Lora and Jerry Hoetger of San Jose; sons, Fred T. Wyrick of Texas and Art Wyrick of Bakersfield; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; many nephews and nieces; sisters and brothers-in-law, Alice and Clarence Slocum of Porterville and Georgia and Olin Sherman of Arizona; brother and sister-in-law, Sam and Bev Wyrick of Florida; and a host of friends at the Rasmussen Senior Center.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in his name to the Rasmussen Senior Center or a charity of your choice.
Visitation will be today 12:00 9:00 p.m.

I remember Fred Wyrick as a younger and slender man. One thing that didn't change was the smile he always had on his face. He always liked a good joke and I never saw him angry.
