Steven R. Corn
November 26, 1949 - May 10, 2018
Steve passed away at home in Squirrel Valley in the early hours of May 10th in his wife's arms. Steve leaves behind his wife of 50 years Sallie Ann (Girardin) Corn, his two sons, Christopher John Corn (Kellie Sturm), John Hardy Corn (Megan Fox), Chris's daughter Brooke Ann Corn.
Born in Torrance CA on November 26th, Steve was the middle child of John Anthony and Eunice Keiser Corn. Steve also leaves behind his mother Eunice Corn, 97 years old and a longtime resident of Squirrel Valley. Steve's two sisters, Sandra Jeanne Givens of Arizona, and Tina M Hunt(Erik Scott) of Squirrel Valley, two beloved nieces, Tera Hunt Mendoza (John Mendoza) and Chelsea Hunt (Shawn Kelley), and grandnieces Kayla Mendoza, Andreya Mendoza, and grandnephew Anthony Gunner Mendoza.
Steve's love of fine automobiles grew during the years he worked for Vasek Polak BMW in Hermosa Beach; after leaving Vasek Polak in 1983 Steve opened Steve's BMW in Redondo Beach where he and his partner Al Dirickson along with Steve's sons worked until 2015 when Steve retired.
After losing his home in the Erskine Fire, Steve was busy rebuilding his dream home, sadly not yet finished. Thanks to his good friends Phil and Sandra Embury, Steve and Sallie were able to stay close to their beloved property.
Steve was a gifted mechanic, artist and visionary. He had a wicked sense of humor. Steve will be missed.
A celebration of his life will be held later this summer.

Steve and I worked together at Vasek Polak BMW for about seven years. I have fond memories of him helping me learn the ropes when I first starting working at VP BMW. I have often thought about Steve over the years when I would drive past his repair shop. Particularly his dry, sometimes dark humor. I was sad to hear of his passing. He will be missed. My prayers go out to Sallie and the family that they may find peace and comfort during this difficult time.

We were so saddened to hear of Steve's passing, but comforted to hear Sallie was right there, lovingly, as always. Steve would always make us smile when he came in for his glasses....he had a great personality, enjoyed his hobbies, and really loved his family. We pray his family, especially Sallie, can find some comfort....some joy again, very soon.

So sorry to hear of Steve's passing. I worked with him at Vasek Polak BMW in the mid 70s. We continued to work together in the industry for many years. My heart goes out to Sally, the boys and the rest of the family. So many great memories. He will be missed.

I am so sad to hear of Steve's passing. I have known the Corn family and Sallie since 1966, and have many wonderful memories. Steve was funny, a great artist and told wonderful stories. My prayers are with you, and may God comfort you during this difficult time.
