Services: Tues., April 6, 1 p.m.
Victor Heier was born in Bakersfield, March 6, 1919 and went to meet Jesus on April 2, 2004.
Vic married Juanita McCaslin in 1940, and was a faithful, loving husband and a wonderful Christian example of what a father should be to his children and grand-children. Vic served our country in the Army during WWII. He loved the Lord and was a member of and served in the Fruitvale Community Church (now RiverLakes Community Church) since the late 1950s.
Vic was an electrician for PG&E for 34 years, and upon his retirement in 1980, moved to Burney, CA. Vic and Juanita returned to Bakersfield in 1992. Later he was diagnosed with Alzheimers disease, and in 2000, he became a resident of Hearthstone Alzheimers Residential Care of Bakersfield.
Victor was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Juanita, his sister, Ina Bergman Hodel, and grandson, Gregory Franklin. He is survived by his brother, Calvin Heier of Bakersfield. He is also survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Carl and Carolyn Heier of Corralitos, CA; and daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Jack Boynton of Bakersfield, Kathee and Steve Westbrook of Novato, CA, and Ann and Gilbert Maines of Placerville, CA. He also leaves behind 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Vic loved helping others, especially widows and women alone and in need. Therefore, in lieu of flowers, the family would suggest donations to Faith Automotive Repair Ministry at the RiverLakes Community Church. (Address below)
Interment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3700 River Blvd., at 1:00 p.m., on Tuesday, April 6. A celebration of Vics life and promotion to Heaven will be held following the graveside service at 2:00 p.m. with a memorial service at RiverLakes Community Church, 4301 Calloway Rd., Bakersfield, 93312. 589-9733
