Dear Sandy, and Mr. and Mrs. Vandevender,
This is such an impossible loss, and such a terrible time of the year to have to endure this. I can't stop thinking of you, and wondering how you are doing. Your family was wonderfully close, so I hope that your many memories will bring you comfort, in time.

To the Vandevender Family:
My sincerest thoughts and condolences go out to you and everyone that knew and loved Dennis. I unfortunately just found out of his passing a few days ago because I no longer live in Baltimore and was not made aware until now. I will always remember Dennis as a truly and genuinely kind person. I know that he will be greatly missed by everyone that was blessed to know him. There are no words.

I met Dennis very briefly but it was a great time. He bought an RV off of me over here in Ohio. From on the phone and on the lot, he was a very nice and courteous person. I heard the news today from his father and was very saddened by the news. My thoughts and prayers go out to Dennis' family and friends.

DenO
Its Amy again, am writing this because I know there is so many things Sam wants to say to you, but you know how he has a hard time saying how he feels. Sam still cant believe your gone he tells me he still waiting for you to pull up at the yard in the morning. Sam loves you very much and this is going to be hard for him he so afraid Lil Sam wont remember you, but he wont ever let that happen. I know he wants you to tell George hello for him. He keeps asking me what he is going to do without DenO. Well he is coming to see today and tomorrow and then he has to say goodbye but not forever, you guys will be together again one day, but until then watch over us and keep us safe.

I would like to say how sorry I am to his family, Dennis was a great person and was like family to us. Lil Sam loved when uncle Dennis came over the house to do electric work he would sit and watch Dennis and of course try to help. Dennis was great with kids. It is so sad this had to happen but at least he not alone, he with his best friend George that he missed so very much. I will miss you very much Dennis and I love you and I will think about you everyday.

Dennis,
You are the best I could have ever asked for in a brother. We got along exceptionally well and rarely argued. You are not only my brother, but my best friend. You’re an exceptional person who would go out of your way to help others. I know how important friendship was to you. Wherever we were there seemed to be someone you knew. I love you very much and will always know you are watching over me. Thank you for taking care of Leo in this difficult situation. For now, I will cherish the lifelong memories I have until we meet again. Tell George I said hello, I’m sure the two of you have a lot of catching up to do! I know in my heart you are at peace and this comforts me in my time of sorrow.
Love always and forever,
Sanner (Sandy)

Sandy, Mr. Roger and Ms. Joanne,
Words can't describe how sorry we are for your loss. As long as I can remember, Dennis has been a part of our family. George and Dennis were inseperable and I guess they gave that expression a whole new meaning. Now they truly are inseperable. Please take comfort in knowing that George is taking good care of Dennis, wherever they may be. They are friends for eternity. Our thoughts and prayers are with you now and forever. Dennis will never be forgotten. He will always live on in us all. Life is not measured by days, it is measured by moments. Dennis only needed 34 yrs. here on earth to accomplish what he needed to before God needed him back to do something even greater. Dennis and I shared the same birthday (July 25th). I will miss calling him on our birthday every year and wishing him a Happy Birthday and to here him say "You too!" May Denno's Memory Be Eternal!!

My thoughts go out to the entire Vandevender family at this difficult time. I have not been in contact with Dennis since high school, but was completely taken back when I heard of his passing. Althouth this is a time of sorrow, we should also think of it as a time of celebration. A time to celebrate the life that Dennis shared with us and the joy that he brought to everyone. Dennis, you were a great guy and will be missed by all.

First of all, I want to express my deepest sympathy to the entire Vandevender family. My prayers are with you now & forever. Words will never express the loss that my family is feeling with the passing of Dennis.
Dennis and Roger had been friends since school, but over the last few years they had become extremely close. In fact, he was more like a brother to Roger and a part of our family. If they didn’t see each other every day, they would be talking on the phone. In fact, I would tease Dennis that he was Roger’s “girlfriend” because they would go to the movies and out to dinner more than we did. And when I would come to Baltimore to visit, no doubt, Dennis was always there with us. Our kids loved “Mr. Dennis”. In fact, Jameliah who is only 6 years old, took it very hard. I don’t even know how to tell Layla, my 3 year old, that she will never see her buddy again. They use to sit on the sofa and watch anything that had to do with racing together. And she loved to dance for Dennis. And god love him, he was so patient with them and loved them just as much as they loved him. Not to mention his god daughter, Kyra. He was one of the first people to come visit her when she was born and he asked about her all the time. What a shame that she will never get to know the wonderful godfather that she had.
Dennis touched everyone that he knew. I can truly say that he was one of the most thoughtful and caring people that I have ever known. Our family will deeply miss him and will never be the same.

Joanne & Family, I am so sorry for your loss. Although I have never met Dennis, as a coworker who has known you for 16 +years I feel I know him as I do you. You can't work beside someone and not know the pride their children bring to them.No words can express how I feel for your loss as you know i have a son the same age. If there is anything I can do please let me know.

Dennis will truly be missed by all his Perry Hall High School friends. Our son Michael hung out with Dennis, George and John all the time. They were always at our house. They were a good group of kids and had a lot of fun together. It is so sad when someone so young leaves too soon. Your family will be in our thoughts and prayers.
