Edith Vogt Obituary

Edith F. Vogt (nee Funkhouser) passed peacefully on February 11th, 2018 at her daughter's home ( Debbie), and began her next journey held by the loving hands of her two daughters. Born in Baltimore October 25th, 1926 to Mary and Marshall Funkhouser. Followed by her two sisters, Cloe and Hazel in which they and their husbands preceded her in passing.   Edith attended Forrest Park High School. She was a majorette and marched for all the games. In her early adult life, she worked for the Federal reserved bank. Edith married Brode Vance Askew in 1950 and had two daughters.  She later married Robert Vogt who passed in 2000.  Edith retired from James Keelty Corporation, where she managed Padonia Village apartments for 30 years. Edith (Edie), loving mother to her two daughters, Deborah E. Winkler and Milicent L. Paparounis (nee Askew), and surrogate daughters Donna Nash, and Paulette Ringley.  Two loving grandchildren, Nicholas C. Paparounis and Jennifer L. Paparounis-Rush, as well as surrogate grandson Walter Ringley.  Close cousins, Cindy Hill and recently departed Jeffery Hill, and their children Rachel Hill, and Rebecca Hill always made Thanksgiving most special. Edith is known for her grace, spirituality, compassion for people and animals, her paintings, and love of dancing. I first met Edith on my first day of work at Westview Realty, Inc. Reed's drug store had a cafeiteria and I was behind Edith in line and I ashed her if she was eating alone. She said yes, so Edith and I ate lunch almost everyday
after that. We became really good friends. in fact when I learned to driver I bought her Falcon. We had a lot of good times together.

I sure will miss her.

Millie and Debbie,I'm so sorry for your loss.
