My love goes out to Miss Gussie's family. One of my second Mom's as we shared the closing of our dear church Keen Memorial UMC. She was always there for anyone and memories of sitting on her steps on Hampden Ave with my Mom and other family and friends from the neighborhood were the best times. I always told her how much she meant to me and I'll cherish her many smiles and positive outlook on life. My love to Miss Shirley her sister-in-law who is still a smiling face.

Deepest sympathy to the entire Wilgis family on your loss. Miss Gussie was a lovely person. She was a member of the Wednesday Bowling League for many years, and whenever she made a batch of her delicious fudge for our various pitch-in lunches the candy would go fast!! Rest in peace, Gussie.

Fondly,

St. Joseph's Bowling League

My deepest sympathies to the Wilgis family for your great loss. May God comfort you during your time of mourning and bring a smile to your heart every time you think of her. Miss Gussie was among one of the sweetest ladies to know in Remington. She acted as a neighborhood grandmother to all of us. I remember her great sense of humor and at times, her feistness! Also, her weekly routine of heading to the bowling alley with some of the other neighborhood ladies. But mostly, watching her laugh it up on the corner of 27th and Hampden, in her favorite fold-out chair. Miss Gussie was one cool chick and will be greatly missed!

I remember Miss Gussie from the Gleaner's bake sales. She always had a smile for everyone. Remington has lost another of its great residents. My Mom was "Sis" Gilpin.

My thoughts and prayers are with you. May your memories bring you comfort and God's love bring you peace knowing that she is celebrating in Heaven.

Growing up, I have fond memories of Aunt Gussie sitting out with the neighbors and family on the corner of 27th street.

I have a great picture of her at Grandma Edna's 90th birthday party where the family had a wonderful time!
