Not exactly sure how to start this out, but first off... my condolences to the Barranco family. I never had the chance to meet Mr. Barranco and really, I don't know much about him in general. What i do know is, he meant a lot to me growing up, ever since I learned of our common interest... hockey. What made this common interest so important was the fact that we are family. I believe Mr. Barranco is my Great Uncle since my Grandmother is Rosina Gruel and they are siblings.
At some point growing up I was given news clippings of Mr. Barranco's hockey accomplishments. I even have one of his team photos, all of which I highly cherished. I spent many an hour looking over those clippings and feeling very excited that hockey was not only something I enjoyed, but it was in my blood line as well.
I was lucky enough to chat on the phone with Mr. Barranco at some point, not sure sure if it was in high school or during my go at playing Juniors, but none the less, it was very exciting to have that time with him.
I guess they reason I am writing this is to just to say thank you Mr. Barranco, thank you for being an inspiration to me over the years.

I was so sorry to hear of Joe's passing. I worked with Joe at Norton Lilly for many years. While I had lost contact for some time, some of the fondest memories of my time with Norton Lilly are of Joe. He always had a smile and a joke. He will be missed.

This is a very, very sad day for me. I introduced Pat & Joe many years ago. I worked with Joe and Jack at Norton Lilly International. I looked forward to work everyday, because my funny friend Joe would always be there to help me get through the day. Joe was the sweetest man I had ever met. Working with Pat on a part-time job, my instincts told me that these two people would make a great couple. I knew that this would be a match made in heaven. I'll never forget the hockey game he took her to, and all of the wonderful "first dates" he took her on to sweep her off of her feet. I think about how I waited anxiously at work one date after the next to find out how the dates went. Pat, you were and will always be the perfect woman for Joe, and God used me to orchestrate the perfect union. I thank God for Joe and Pat, and my heart aches at the loss of such a wonderful man. All my love, Sharon.

Joe was my first ice hockey coach.
It was the Dundalk Lions 1969-1970.
I hope he's coaching for the big team in heaven.
Ex Baltimore Clipper 1975-1977.

Dear Pat and family,
Although I did not know any of you, I was a good friend of Joe during and after high school. Although we often played on different teams, he was always a class player. He will be missed.
