Alice Scholten Dunham

Alice Scholten Dunham Battle Creek Alice Scholten Dunham, 97, loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, went to live with her Lord on Thursday, June 10, 2010. She was a Godly woman with a passion for serving Christ and a special gift of friendship which she shared with everyone she met. Alice graduated from Climax High School, after which she was employed at Kellogg's. She served as the Power House Secretary, retiring in 1974 with 40 years of service. She was an Emeritus member of the Kellogg 25-Year Club's Executive Committee. Alice was the Sunday School superintendent for many years at the River Walk Community Church where she was a charter member. In her free time, she enjoyed cross stitching for family and friends; love gifts containing spiritual messages. Alice was married for 60 years to Glen Aubrey Dunham, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her children, Joen Slaven (Ken) of Frostproof, FL, Sheri Haan (Glen) of Sutton's Bay, MI, Maryanne Zenger (Tom) of Holland, MI and Glenn (Maxine) Dunham of Conway, AR. There are eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Friends are invited to join the family at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home on Sunday, June 13, 2010 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. The funeral to celebrate Alice's life will be held on Monday, June 14 at the River Walk Community Church at 1:30 p.m., 1021 Wagner Dr., Battle Creek, officiated by Pastor Rich Verkaik. A private family burial will take place at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be given to the Battle Creek Christian School, 1035 Wagner Dr., Battle Creek, MI. 49017.
