James Lund Obituary

James Reed Lund, aged 81, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Jim was born on October 13, 1942, in Tulsa, Okla., to the late Wesley Reed Lund and Doris Ruth Ferris Lund.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Merrie Ellen Lund (nee Jowers), with whom he shared a lifetime of love and companionship. They were blessed with two sons, Eric James and Kevin Reed Lund. Eric's wife, Amy Lund, and their two cherished granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Kimberly, were a constant source of joy in Jim's life.

Jim is also survived by his brother, William Lund, with whom Jim shared many fond memories and experiences throughout the years. He was preceded in death by his dear younger brother, David Jonathan Lund.

Ellen's family, the Jowers, mourn the loss of a cherished family member. In-laws, Jimmy and Pam Jowers, as well as sisters-in-law, Laurel Lund and Rebecca Brown, share in the grief and fondly remember Jim's impact on their lives.

A passionate educator, Jim dedicated 36 years of his life to teaching high school economics and history, five years at McAllen High School in McAllen, Texas, and 31 years at Clear Lake High School in Houston, Texas. Jim left a lasting impact on countless students.
