Carey L. Henrichs, 46 years of age, of Wymore passed away unexpectedly at the Beatrice Community Hospital Monday morning, May 17, 2010. He was born on March 30, 1964 in Fairbury. to Walter and Judy (Marshall) Henrichs. Carey was a 1982 graduate of Wymore Southern High School in Wymore. Carey and Cheryl Saathoff were married on October 26, 1985 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Wymore. He has been employed as a planner buyer in the parts distribution center at Landoll's in Marysville, Kan. and had been employed at Petersen Manufacturing in DeWitt and Beatrice for 19 years. He was also employed at Henrichs Feed and was milker for his uncle Roger Henrichs. He was a member of the Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Wymore and had served on the church council; had coached T-ball and Little League in the Wymore Recreation Program; coached basketball in the Barneston Basketball League; coached Junior Legion and the American Legion baseball teams for several years and also was caretaker of the baseball field; He served as a spotter for the Wymore Southern football team for 4 years. Carey's hobbies included baseball, gardening, exercising, being vocal with his political opinion, paying special attention to Fox News and Rush Limbaugh. He especially enjoyed the activities of his two sons and his granddaughter.
Survivors include his wife Cheryl; 2 sons, Matthew Henrichs and his wife Tiffany of Stapleton, and Michael Henrichs and his fiancé Jenna Rickstrew of Wymore; granddaughter Karrigan Henrichs and soon-to-be granddaughter Kassidy Henrichs; parents Walter and Judy Henrichs of Wymore; brother Allan Henrichs and wife Deb of Wymore; sister Amy Vitosh and husband Brad of Odell; brothers-in-law Alan Saathoff and wife Sue of Unadilla, and Gary Saathoff of Wymore; close personal friends Jennie, Victoria, and Ethan Zvolanek of Wymore; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother Barry (January 6, 1980), nephew Chase Henrichs; and parents-in-law Alfred and Elsie Saathoff.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 20, 2010 at the Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 11th and L Street in Wymore with PMA Ernest Waltke officiating. A family prayer service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at the Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home, 505 N. 9th Street in Wymore. Interment will be in the Blue Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. Wednesday with the family receiving friends from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. and the Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home, and at the church one hour preceding the service on Thursday. Memorial has been established to the church, Wymore Little League baseball, Wymore American Legion baseball teams, and the Barneston basketball program with Jim and Syndee West and Brad and Jacki Groesser in charge. The Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home in Wymore is in charge of the services.
