Keith A. Rohr, 75, of Pickrell, died at his home on Friday morning, Dec. 6, 2013. He was born Jan. 22, 1938, at Fairbury and graduated from Reynolds High School in 1956.
He worked at Dempsters for several years, then at Natural Gas Booster Station from 1969 until he retired in 1998. After retiring, he worked for Beatrice Concrete and then Beatrice Machine where he delivered parts to local manufacturers. He married Sharon Zimmerman Carpenter on Oct. 16, 1993, at the Chautauqua Park Tabernacle in Beatrice. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon of rural Pickrell; one son, Michael Rohr and wife Krista Tushar-Rohr of Highland Ranch, Colo.; one daughter, Rachelle Elliott and husband Richard of Wymore; one step-son, Brian Carpenter of Beatrice; one step-daughter, Debra Lampe and husband John of Beatrice; six grandchildren; one step-granddaughter; one great-grandson; two sisters, his twin sister, Kathy Stewart of Fairbury and Shirley Nave of Lincoln; one brother, Kenneth Rohr and wife, Jan of Olympia, Wash.; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Bernice Schroeder Rohr; one granddaughter, Desire' Elliott and an infant brother, Darwin Rohr.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013, at Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice with Pastor Charles Schmidt officiating. Cremation will follow the services. A memorial has been established to the family's choice. The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice from 5 p.m. Monday. Dec. 9, 2013, until time of services on Wednesday.
