Linda Himes
December 13, 1953 - July 18, 2025
It is with profound sadness yet a celebration of a life beautifully lived that we remember Linda Lou Himes, who entered eternal rest on July 18, 2025. Born on December 13, 1953, in Omaha, Neb., Linda spent her early years soaking up the sun and culture of Tucson, Arizona, which forever influenced her love for southwestern fashion and cacti. A graduate of Rincon High School, she later became a pharmacy technician, and also held various clerical jobs. Linda was a loving wife to Les Himes, whom she married on July 20, 1995, and together, they built a life filled with laughter, love, and companionship in Beatrice.
Linda was not only a witty and supportive friend, but also a loving mother and grandmother. Her love for her family knew no bounds, particularly for her cherished grandchildren. As a skilled seamstress, each stitch she sewed in her childhood clothes held a piece of her heart, just like every pin she knocked down at the bowling alley, a hobby she passionately pursued. As the saying goes, "The purpose of life, after all, is to live it..." Linda did just that, living her life to the fullest, touching everyone she met with her infectious wit and smile, and leaving an indelible mark on their hearts.
She leaves behind a beautiful legacy through her husband, Les Himes; children, Michael Turner and wife Theresa of Beatrice, Tara Turner of Effingham, Kan., and Kristel Hutchinson of Lincoln; grandchildren, Anthony Johnson, Ashley King, Cheyenne Turner, Michael Turner, Jr., Kaleb Turner, Brycen Turner, Camron Oltman, Alexys Turner, Nadya Hutchinson, Emma Bonebright; stepsons, Marcus Himes and George Himes; siblings, Lynn Muehlhausen, Dorothy Koelzer, Kathy Ramer, and Sandy Muehlhausen; several nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lynn and Waunetta (Zimmerman) Muehlhausen. The void left by her passing can never be filled, but the memories she created will continue to light the way for all who knew and loved her.
A celebration of Linda's life will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at Stroker's Saloon in Wilber from 1 to 4 p.m. In celebration of Linda's life, we invite you to share your memories, stories, and photographs of Linda on her memorial page at
www.ghchapel.com. Let us remember Linda not just for how she left this world, but for how she lived in it - with love, wit, and unwavering support for those around her.
These services have been entrusted to the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice.
