Charles Bauer Obituary

Charles Louis Bauer, 82, of Beaumont, passed away on July 24, 2021, in Beaumont.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, July 29, 2021, at Garden of Memories Cemetery in El Campo, Texas.

Born in Wharton, Texas, on March 13, 1939, he was the son of Willam Bauer and Lola Elizabeth (Byerley) Bauer. Charles retired from Southland Corporation after many years of dedicated and hard work. When not working his permanent job, he spent many hours painting houses as a side job with Sam Brocato. After his retirement, he enjoyed going back to El Campo where he and his wife owned cattle. Charles enjoyed taking his grandchildren on trips in their motorhome. He loved his family beyond words and always made sure to provide the best life for them. Charles will be deeply missed by all who loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Lois Allgayer

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Bonnie Sue (Robertson) Bauer; children, Laurie Lewis and husband Chuck and Brian Bauer and wife Helen; grandchildren, Adam Lewis, Carly Lewis, Gracie Lewis, Colleen Bauer and wife Stacie, and Mary Bauer and husband Peter Dowsett; and sister, Jean Elizabeth Zimmerman; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzeihmers Association at www.alz.org.
