James Lowe Obituary

James W. Lowe, 71, of Fannett, died Sunday, June 1, 2008 at Magnolia Manor in Groves. "To the Unknown Man", There he sits, calm and unanxious, never giving in and never giving up. So many know him, but then, they really don't know him. His indifferent side is all they take time to see. But there is more than indifference. A side hard to see and a side few take time to see. Warm and caring. Always ready to help if possible, though many hard years have dealt him a heavy blow, he still stands tall. Able to lead, but not having anyone to follow. There is a wisdom he has, more than he shows. He is there beside you, just reach out your hand. You say he is not there, but he is…look hard and you will find him. So its there he sits, watching and waiting. Wanting to give so much. Now after all is said and done. We say thank you to the unknown man. Your love and wisdom will guide us. If only more would have known. (Curtis Lowe) A native of Quinton, Oklahoma and resident of Fannett most of his life, Mr. Lowe was a retired electrical supervisor with Bethlehem Steel. He was a United States Army and Air Force veteran. His parents, Wesley James and Blanche Martindale Lowe; brother, Waymon Lowe; and sister, Eugenia "Bug" Miekelson preceded him in death. Survivors include his, wife of fifty years, Mary Lowe of Fannett; daughters, Terrie Sonnier of Fannett and Regina Jones of Vidor; sons, Wesley Lowe of Beaumont, Curtis Lowe of Hamshire and Wade Lowe of Abilene; fourteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; brothers, Wade Lowe of South Carolina and C.W. Lowe of Silsbee; sisters, Belle Burley, Catherine Weekley both of Houston and Velma Pennington of Hamshire. Cremation arrangements were handled by Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
