Jeffrey Walker Obituary

Jeffrey Lynn Walker, Jr., 35, of Newton, Texas died July 19, 2010 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, TX. Jeffrey was born June 8, 1975 in Kirbyville, TX. He lived most of his life in Newton, TX. He graduated from Newton High School in 1993 and attended Kilgore Junior College. He grew up working in his family construction business (Jeff Walker Enterprises) in the Houston/Tomball area and throughout East Texas. He owned his own construction company, Walker Construction, for several years, traveled throughout Texas as a construction superintendent for EMJ Enterprises and Houseman Construction. Jeffrey was an avid hunter and fisherman, a history and political enthusiast, and loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the Newton First Baptist Church. Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Jeff and Judy Walker, brothers and sisters-in-laws, Carl and Susan Walker, Scott and Jennifer Walker, all of Newton. Aunts and Uncles: Linda and John Rowland of San Antonio, Mark and Rhonda Walker of Groves, Tommy and Athena Walker of Baxter, TN, Jana and Mike Lewis, Tammy and Brad Marshall of Newton, Terri and Travis Jones of Jasper, Cathy and Rick Marberry of Lufkin, Clyde and Tiffany Adams of Missouri City; many great aunts and uncles, cousins and friends. Uncle Jeffrey will be greatly missed by the lights of his life: nieces, Shelby Walker and Caitlyn Proffitt; nephews, Dylan Walker and Cyle Dennison. Special friends: Charlotte Adney, Charlie Fuller, Bill Fortenberry, Jeff Mason, Jason Fortenberry. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: J.D. and Dorothy Walker, Clyde and Melba Adams, uncle, Bud Walker, and cousins, Adam Wills and Anthony Walker. Services will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday, July 21 at First Baptist Church in Newton, TX with burial to follow at Walker Family Cemetery in Pine Grove, TX. Visitation will be from 6-9 PM Tuesday, July 20 at Smith Funeral Home in Newton.

Walker Family,
We will all miss Jeff. I can only imagine how hard it is to loose a child or brother. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you in this trying time. If you need anything from me or my family, please let me know. Jeff was a kind and fun guy to be around. He WILL be missed by all who knew him. I know that he is now in a better place and we will get to see him again one day.
