Heather Recker Obituary
Heather Recker, nee Scheid, 46, of Freeburg, Ill., born June 11, 1965, in Belleville, Ill., died Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011, at University Hospital, Columbia, Mo., due to complications in her courageous battle with leukemia.
Heather enjoyed baking, crafting, reading Danielle Steele novels, working in the yard, and spending time with her husband, Dale, children, and family. Heather will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her father, David Scheid.
Surviving are her husband, Dale Recker, whom she married June 19, 1999; two sons and a daughter, Josh Hummert of Freeburg, Ill., Tony Hummert (friend, Hannah) of Freeburg, Ill., and Lindsey Recker (friend, Nick) of Springfield, Mo.; her mother, Peggy, nee Mayfield, Scheid of Freeburg, Ill.; a sister, Laura (Paul) Wolf of Freeburg, Ill.; two brothers, Derrick (Courtney) Scheid and Dwayne (Heather) Scheid, both of Freeburg, Ill.; her maternal grandparents, Gene and Melba Mayfield; her mother-in-law, Marianne Recker; a brother-in-law, Gerry Recker; two sisters-in-law, Rachel (Turner) Rouse and Julie (Steve) Roth; and nieces and nephews, Nathan, Lucas, and Curtis Wolf, Jacob Gerfen, Ashlee and Sam Scheid, Davis and Sam Scheid, and Jill and Haley Rouse.
Memorials may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.
Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, 2011, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Freeburg, Ill.
Friends may also call from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Freeburg, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Freeburg, Ill., with the Rev. Earl Crecelius officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Freeburg, Ill.

I worked with Heather early in her career. She & I shared a ride to work for awhile. My thoughts & prayers go to her family. She will be missed.

Heather you will be dearly missed, just recalling a few of the many memories from back in the day...cranking ice cream on the Scheids' back porch, our trip to Florida and being stranded in the not so nice part of Chattanooga TN, your artistic talent for designer jewelry "miller light bottle cap earrings", cheese covered olives and amaretto & coke, riding around for hours just talking, your smile.I will keep these memories forever in my heart.RIP my friend.
