Robert J. Recker

Robert J. Recker, 92, of Allentown, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2025 in St. Luke's Hospital – Allentown Campus. He was the husband of the late Marlene E. (Webster) Recker, who died in 1998.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Robert and Vera (Kaiser) Recker. Bob was a graduate of Allentown High School and served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force, stationed in Germany during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a foreman at Prior Coated Metal for many years. Later, Bob owned and operated various local restaurants, including The Red Cove and the Episcopal House Restaurant. He was also a dedicated employee of Lehigh County, working in maintenance at Cedar View Apartments until his retirement. Bob attended Faith Church in Allentown and was an excellent woodworker.

Survivors: Daughters, Deborah L. Recker of Allentown, Tami M. Transue and her husband Edward B. Transue Jr. of Allentown; 2 grandsons, Timothy A. Horlacher of Allentown, Brett R. Horlacher and his wife Shannon of St. Augustine, FL. Bob was also preceded in death by one brother, James Recker.

Services: A viewing will be held from 10-11 AM on Friday, January 2, 2026, followed by a funeral service at 11 AM in the K.V. Knopp Funeral Home, 46 E. Susquehanna Street, Allentown.

Interment with military honors will be held at 11 AM on Monday, January 5 at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, 1700 Airport Road, Allentown.
