Jacob Levi Scribner, 24 of Collinsville, Ill., born Dec. 7, 1986, in Clayton, Mo. passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2011.
Jacob was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Kyle and Iuta Key and Jacob Sherbut; his grandparents, Jim G. Sherbut and Robert N. Currie; and his nephew, Anthony M. Key.
Surviving are his mother, Shannon Sherbut of Troy, Ill.; his father, John Sherbut of Collinsville, Ill.; his beloved brothers, Travis Scribner, Wyatt Sherbut and Christian Sherbut; his beloved "Sissy" Angel C. Scribner; his grandmothers, Barbara Sherbut of Collinsville, Ill., and Judith Currie of St. Jacob, Ill.; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the USO. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.kasslyfuneral.com.
Visitation: Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2011, at Kassly Mortuary, Fairview Heights, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2011, at Kassly Mortuary Chapel, Fairview Heights, Ill., with Pastor Michael Walther officiating. Private interment will be held the following day.

John, Shannon, Travis, Angel, Wyatt, Christian- You are all in our thoughts, through this difficult time. Losing someone is the hardest pain to deal with. Please know that you are not alone, we are all here for you. I would love to say time heals all wounds, but its just not true. The pain will always be there, its just how you cope with the pain that will help you during this time. Carry his memory with pride and love; knowing that you loved him with all that you had. I have been blessed to be part of Jacobs life since birth and love him like one of my own children. No matter how bad things were in his life, he always had a bright smile and kind word for everyone he spoke to. He touched every life he came in contact with and will truly be missed. love you Jake, RIP!

I havent talked to Jacob probably since our freshman year in highschool, but he was always such a nice guy. He was really funny to. He will be missed by many!! Prayers go out to the family.
