James A. Eichenseer I, 56, of Swansea, Ill., born Nov. 7, 1950, in East St. Louis, Ill., died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2007, at St. Louis University Hospital, St. Louis, Mo.
He was preceded by two daughters, Heather Eichenseer, in infancy, and Hope Eichenseer Campbell.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth "Beth", nee Gatewood, Eichenseer of Belleville, Ill.; a son, James A. (Tammy) Eichenseer II of Iuka, Ill.; a daughter, Becky Marie Eichenseer of Belleville, Ill.; his parents, Virgil A. and Shirley J., nee Gundlach, Eichenseer; step-sons, Charles Rainy and David Rainy, both of Mississippi; two grandchildren, Ayla and James III Eichenseer; a sister, Cheri Marie Weaver of Swansea, Ill.; a nephew, Jeremy T. Weaver of Swansea, Ill.; two aunts, Evelyn E. Nester and Rose Marie Gundlach, both of Belleville, Ill.; and cousins.
Memorials may be made in the form of Masses, to the American Heart Association, to the American Diabetes Association, or to the Belleville Area Humane Society. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation: Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, 2007, at St. Peter's Cathedral Catholic Church, Belleville, Ill.

Funeral: A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, 2007, at St. Peter's Cathedral Catholic Church, Belleville, Ill., with Monsignor James Buerster officiating. According to Mr. Eichenseer's wishes, cremation was to be held.
