Joe Hernandez Memoriam

Joe (Zach) Hernandez

He was born in the summer of his 27th year, coming home to a place he'd never been before. He left Illinois to make Aspen and the West his new home.

His heartfelt laughter prevailed over any circumstances. Always ready for adventure without prior notice, Joe brought an energy that invited interesting people and situations.

From your father Joseph and siblings Colette, Keith, Dana and Brian we appreciate how you grew in love, patience and kindness. We love you and miss you.

My best memories of Joe are at Althoff Catholic High School. He played football and I will always remember his "bow legged" speed and ability to take a hit!

I never saw him without a smile on his face and not ready for an adventure. I can assure you anyone who spent any time with him will have a memorable and funny story. Hearing his name in conversation always brings a smile to anyone in the discussion. Rest in Peace Hondo and thanks for some great times. Smitty

He was my neighbor and friend a long time ago but the memories of him and the rest of his family are still fresh. He was a good friend.

I'm a total stranger but the John Denver lyric caught me. I can tell that Joe had a vision and love of nature. I am sure Joe found his heart out West and touched many people's hearts. Blessings and condolences to his family.

I never met Mr. Hernandez, but I found the words of his family about him to be profound. What a beautiful remembrance...what a beautiful song. Peace to you, Zach.
