John Barr

John Michael Barr, 68, of Fenton, Mo., born Feb. 10, 1944, in East St. Louis, Ill., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012.

John was an Army veteran of the Vietnam Conflict stationed in Germany.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Emma Barr; his sisters and brothers, Ethel Theis, Mary Steele, George Barr, Elsie Cluck, Joseph Barr, Bert Barr, Lucille "Lucy" Green and Elizabeth Halwachs.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Elisabeth, nee Stadlmaier, Barr; a daughter, Sabina Combs; a son, Dan (Amy) Barr; his grandchildren who were his pride and joy, Todd and Paige Combs and Emma Barr; and his brothers, Harvey Barr and Patrick Barr.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.kasslyfuneral.com.

Visitation: Friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at Kassly Mortuary, Fairview Heights, Ill.

Funeral: Memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at Kassly Mortuary, Fairview Heights, Ill., with Father Clyde Grogan officiating.
