Lawaine Dain Obituary
Lawaine Alfred Dain, 74, of Belleville, Ill., born Saturday, Aug. 21, 1937, in Jersey City, N.J., died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012, at his residence.
Lawaine was a retired investigator for Equifax. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Belleville, Ill., long time member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fords, N.J., a long time scoutmaster and a member of American Legion Post 471 in Iselin, N.J. He was a United States Vietnam War Army veteran and a chaplain assistant in the army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd A. and Lydia, nee Maier, Dain; and a sister, Laura Mae Meyer.
Surviving are his wife, Grace, nee Miller, Dain; children, Christopher (Michele) Dain of Belleville, Ill., Judi (Mark) Gianchiglia of Brick, N.J., Laura Dain of Maple Shade, N.J., and Lloyd Dain of Belmar, N.J.; grandchildren, Mary Grace Dain, Alex Dain, Bethany Dain and Samantha Gianchiglia.
Memorials may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church, Our Redeemer Lutheran Church or Deborah Heart and Lung Center in Browns Mills, N.J. Condolences may be expressed online at www.kurrusfh.com.
Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13, 2012, at Kurrus Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill., and 10 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, at Zion Lutheran Church, Belleville, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, at Zion Lutheran Church, Belleville, Ill., with Pastor Gary W. Beyers officiating. Interment will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo.
A memorial service will be held at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fords, N.J., on Aug. 25, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. followed by a cake and coffee fellowship.
