Leo Germain Obituary

Leo Germain
Leo J. Germain, 79, of Fairview Heights, Ill., born Feb. 14, 1926, in Belleville, Ill., died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2006, at DePaul Health Center, Bridgeton, Mo.
Mr. Germain, a graduate of the University of Illinois, was a local entrepreneur. He was an Illinois licensed professional engineer, an Illinois registered land surveyor, and an Illinois licensed real estate broker. He was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church, Belleville, Ill., where he was a lector and was active in the choir. He was also a member of the Belleville Philharmonic Society. Leo was a World War II U.S. Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Agnes, nee Przypyszny, Germain; his parents, Joseph and Frieda, nee Beil, Germain; and two sisters, Helen Bretz and Cleotha Honer.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Mary Ann, nee Lorch, Germain, whom he married Jan. 16, 1988; two sons, David Leo (Cheryl) Germain of Houston, Tx., and Carl John (Jessee Crane) Germain of Wildwood, Mo.; a daughter, Susan (Marco) Martinez of River Forest, Ill.;
three stepsons, Stephen (Sandra) Crain of Farmington, Mo.,
Gregory (Gerry) Crain of Maryville, Ill., and Gary (Janet) Crain of Kansas City, Mo.; a stepdaughter, Sheri Lynn (Brian) Quinn of Michigan; 15 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or to the American Cancer Society.

Visitation: Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, 2006, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Funeral: Funeral procession will leave at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006, from George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, Ill., for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Henry Catholic Church, Belleville, Ill., with Msgr. Bernard Voss officiating.
Burial will be at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
