Blondina was such a unique person; talented, witty, down to earth and loving. She's held a special place in my life and heart for some 55 years. We first met when I was a young teen. She and my father had a relationship of many years. Being raised by a single father, she helped me navigate some of the bumpy teen moments and much later she was there for me when my father passed away. Over the last several years, I'd be in Bellingham once a year or so and always looked forward to a visit with her. She never lost her sense of humor, even as time went by and getting out and about became more difficult. Several years ago I was there and driving a pickup truck. We wanted to go out to lunch and that presented some challenges, but she was game to go. The walker went in the truck bed, I gave her a boost up and off we went ! I will truly miss her.

Blondina had a funny and joking type of personality. A fun person to be around. She was very gifted and talented in her paintings, painted sweatshirts, and painted Christmas Cards. I am very fortunate to have three paintings done by her throughout my home. The painting of the family farm is the one I treasure most. Looking at that farm painting and the other two paintings will always bring back a smile to me and the special memories I have of her. Blondina lived a long good life and will be truly missed. But in our hearts we know it was God's time to take her home. Time to rest and be with the Lord Jesus.

As her grand niece, I was fortunate to have met her one summer day at my grandparents' Perham farm during my adolescent years. I remember a woman that was fun to be around and "kept me in stitches" with her witty personality. I wish there had been more visits with her. My mom has a few of her paintings that have been admired by many people. I loved wearing the painted "Butterfly" sweatshirt she made for me years ago. I enjoyed all of her handmade Christmas cards which were sent throughout her lifetime. Thanks, Blondy, for these great memories that I will always have to share with everyone.
