Suzanne Coughlin Obituary

Suzanne (Sue) Coughlin, 80 of The Villages, Florida passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on December 4. She was born in Pittsfield, MA on May 13, 1941, and is the daughter of Charles and Shirley Knox.

Sue attended Pittsfield public schools. She married Donald Coughlin in 1992. They enjoyed boating on the Hudson River as members of the Ravena Coeymans Yacht Club, traveling and her last five years living in The Villages. She previously worked at Friendly's Ice Cream, Dr. Gregory's Office, and for the MA State Department of Social Services. During her retirement she volunteered at Moments House, UF Hospital, and Mother Bear knitting club.

When she wasn't volunteering, she dedicated most of her time to her family. She loved to host and cook for the holidays and of course spoiling everybody. She endlessly supported her grandchildren with their sporting events, academics, and all of their accomplishments.

Sue will be remembered for her outgoing personality and her ability to make new friends. Her admiration for Tom Brady will be missed. Her generosity, kind-heartedness and ability to spark conversations will be missed by everyone.

In addition to Donald Coughlin, she is survived by daughters; Kim (Jeep) McMahon, Colleen (Norm) Leitch, sisters; Patricia (Wally) Kelley, Polly (John) Lombardi, Kelly (Bill) Jones, brothers; Steven Knox, Jeffery (Lynn Majewski) Knox, step daughters; Debby (Ross) DeBlois, Donna (Mark) Pierson, grandchildren Andrew and Eric Leitch, Courtney, Jamie, Shane and Brandon McMahon, Kate and Shaun Kotoski, Deryck and Erin DeBlois along with many cousins, nieces and nephews and wonderful friends.

She was predeceased by her sister Elaine Baum and stepdaughter Denise Coughlin.

To honor Sue's wishes there will be no calling hours, a private burial graveside service will take place at a later date in Pittsfield.

Sue told the best stories. Her family meant the world to her. She was so proud of her grandchildren. If you had Sue as a friend, she made you feel loved, accepted, and you could handle anything when she incorporated her realism and humor.
