Marta Cronk Obituary
May 10, 2023
Marta Rose Stirn Cronk, age 71, passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2023. She was born March 11, 1952 in Rushville, IN the daughter of Charles and Bonnie (Cauble) Stirn.
In 1969, during Marta's senior year of High School, her father took a job at Sears and moved the family from Ironton, OH to Big Rapids. After graduation, she attended Ferris State University and earned her Bachelors of Science in Health Information Management. Marta moved to Grand Rapids in 1989 and worked for Blue Care Network, she retired after 17 years of service.
She is survived by her two children; Amy Lynn (Michael) Vassallo of Montclair, NJ, Donald Jr. (Faith Markin) Cronk of Rockford; five grandchildren; two sisters, Barb (Bill) Deakins of Florida, Kathy (Joe) Garner of Big Rapids; four brothers, Steve (Anne Louise) Stirn of Columbus, OH, Jeff Stirn of Big Rapids, Pete (Pam) Stirn of Midland, Chris (Melissa) Stirn of Remus; many nieces and nephews.
Marta was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Greg Stirn.
A funeral service will take place 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 17th at the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids with burial at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
The family will greet friends on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions in Marti's memory may be made to the American Lung Association.
