Mitchell Malcolm Graeber, 47 years old, was taken suddenly from family and friends on Feb. 12, 2008. He was involved in a car accident outside of Hardin.
Mitchell was born in Long Beach, Calif., and moved with his family to Billings in 1969. Mitchell attended Billings West High School. He worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad on the Steel Gangs, then made a career working on the drilling rigs in the oil fields of Wyoming. He was a longtime resident of Worland, Wyo., and recently relocated back to Billings.
Mitchell loved sports. He was involved in the local pool leagues and enjoyed golfing with his brother Bob. He was a member of the golf club in Worland.
He enjoyed woodworking and spent many days helping his mom and dad working on their house and garden.
Mitchell is survived by his mother and stepdad, Ruby and Glen Zimmerman of Whitefish; siblings Mark (Bob) and wife Theresa Stephenson of Whitefish, Richard and wife Rita Graeber of Billings, Julie and husband Dick Hirschi of Whitefish, Jessica and husband Vince Flamm of Jefferson City, Brenda Heser Young of Kalispell and Brian and wife Sara Zimmerman of Boise, Idaho; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Mitchell was preceded in death by his father, Malcolm McKenzie Graeber; and older brother, Gary Stephenson.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 17, at the Smith Downtown Chapel, 925 S. 27th St., Billings.
