Gary Bean Obituary

Gary L. Bean, 61, Bismarck, died July 26, 2003, in a Silverton, Ore., hospital from injuries received in a motorcycle accident in Silverton. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Boelter-Eastgate Funeral Service, 200 W. Turnpike Ave., Bismarck.

Gary is survived by his loving wife, Sandi Bean, Silverton; loving son and friend, Damian Bean, Bismarck; and granddaughter, Olivia Patterson, Bismarck.

Gary was born July 25, 1942, to Van and Delores Bean in Oregon. Gary had many passions in his life, he loved to ride his horses and tend to the land they were kept on. Three years ago he purchased his first Harley and he loved to ride, on many occasions taking the trip from Bismarck to Oregon. The thing he was most passionate about was his work. Gary was a licensed land surveyor in North Dakota and the surrounding states. He was deeply respected by his peers. Gary had a passion for accuracy and followed through on every last detail. He was involved in surveying for all of Basin Electric Power Cooperatives' transmission system and power stations in North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska and Wyoming. He was actively surveying on these facilities since 1974 and an employee of Basin Electric since 1977.

He was well respected and loved in this community and will be greatly missed. I love you dad.

In lieu of flowers, Damian requests memorials be made to ABATE of North Dakota for the education of motorcycle riders. Something he and I strongly believed in.
