Lloyd L. Lammer, 71, Rapid City, S.D., and formerly of Bismarck, died May 25, 1999, in a Rapid City nursing home. Lloyd was born Sept. 23, 1927, in Edgeley, to Edward M. and Friederika (Mammel) Lammer. He grew up and attended schools in the area, graduating in 1946. He joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in Japan from 1946-1948. After returning from military service, he began his 40 year career with the N.D. State Highway Department in Bismarck in 1950. They returned to Valley City, where Lloyd was the district engineer from 1972-1974, and in 1974, they moved to Bismarck, where he was the assistant chief engineer from 1974-1990, when he retired. The couple later moved to Rapid City, S.D., in 1996.

Lloyd was a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish in Rapid City, and was a lifetime member of the B.&P.O. of the Elks.
