Scott James Kennedy was born March 14, 1965, to James and Patricia Kennedy at Crystal. He moved to Bismarck in July of 1966 with his parents. Scott had two sisters, Kim Kennedy Soderholm and Molly Kennedy.
Scott attended school in Bismarck and graduated from Bismarck High School in 1983. He attended and graduated from the University of North Dakota in 1988 with a degree in aviation administration. He was employed in the airline industry until March of 1996. At that time, he traveled to Sunch'on South Korea to teach conversational English at Sunch'on High School. He was teaching at the time of his death on Sept. 7, 1998.
Scott had the gift of living in the present, learning from every life experience that he had and every person that he met. His jobs around the country and in Korea, as well as his travels around the world had given Scott a countless family of friends. We will miss his creativity and incredible sense of humor. Over the last year, Scott had been assisting with planning a sports courtyard on the campus of Sunch'on High School and memorials will be given to the school.
Services will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 1998, at 3 p.m. at Lutheran Church of the Cross, Bismarck.
Scott is survived by his mother, Patty Kennedy, his father, Jim Kennedy, and his sister, Molly Kennedy, all of Bismarck; his sister and brother-in-law, Kim and Paul Soderholm, Fargo; his niece and nephew, Anna and Jay Soderholm; and his grandmother, Eileen Kennedy, Bismarck; and his many friends.
