Sheila Williams Hinkle

1952 - 2016

Sheila Williams Hinkle, of Hendersonville, passed away November 29th, 2016. She was born in Durham, North Carolina on September 22, 1952 to the late Fred and Libby Williams. She had many fond memories of growing up in Durham surrounded by her extended family and many friends.
In 1974, she graduated from Western Carolina University with a Bachelors of Science in Home Economics. She went on to teach in the Henderson County School system where she touched many lives with her caring nature. Sheila often would refer to her students as "her kids" she simply loved them and loved being a teacher.
Sheila loved the Lord. She was constantly thinking of others before herself. This lead to cooking countless meals, fulfilling needed items, an open door for friends and family, a listening ear, or a kind word. In addition to being an excellent cook, she enjoyed gardening, reading, music, she dearly loved pets especially her children's, living in Wolf Pen where she was a member of the book club, watching the Panthers play football and UNC play basketball, but most of all, just being around family. Sheila was funny and loved to laugh!
She is survived by her children Jeffrey Hinkle and his wife Angie of Hendersonville, Jessica Sheppard and her husband, Justin of Cary; her sister, Genie Williams of Richmond, KY; and by her brother, Chris Williams of Marion, NC.
A Celebration of life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at Grace Community Church, 945 Cardinal Road, Mills River, North Carolina 28759.
