Sarah Miller Obituary

Sarah Elizabeth Miller, 36, beloved wife, daughter, and granddaughter, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at Citizens Memorial Hospital as a result of metastatic breast cancer.
Sarah was born in Bolivar, on Oct. 18, 1987 to Cathy (Hudson) Molder and Ron Molder. She was a CMH baby and became her Daddy's "little buddy" when his and her schools were out for the summer while Mommy worked. Sarah attended primary through high school at Bolivar Schools graduating in 2006. She then entered Southwest Baptist University where she majored in writing and minored in art. Sarah graduated from SBU as a Cum Laude Honors Graduate with her Bachelor of Arts degree in 2010. While at SBU, Sarah was elected to the Alpha Nu Omega Chapter of the International English Honor Society Sigma Tau Delta and was elected to Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.
Sarah met her husband, soulmate, and the love of her life in 2014, Evan S. Miller. They were married on Oct. 31, 2015 – Halloween – a holiday which they both loved. They shared eight years together.
Following graduation from SBU, Sarah taught briefly at Bolivar Technical College and then worked as a receptionist at Tweedie Chiropractic Clinic before joining the Education Services Department at Citizens Memorial Hospital in September 2013. In this role, she obtained her American Heart Association Basic Life Certification and taught CPR to the employees throughout the CMH organization. She later became the Director of the Education Services Department and remained in that role until 2020 when she was recruited to be the Administrative Assistant to the Chief Operating Officer for the Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation. At the time of her death, she was working in Foundation Clinical Services.
Sarah was very private regarding her salvation experience and her walk with God but lived her Christianity daily by the care and concern she showed to those in need and the less fortunate. This care and concern also extended to God's creatures and she never saw a stray cat or dog that she didn't feed and try to make sure that it ended up where it could find a good home. Sarah was a member of the Bolivar Open Hearts Methodist Church and was actively involved as her health issues allowed. She served as their greeter for those visiting the services or participating in the services online.
She enjoyed many hobbies and activities including reading, crafting, painting, photography, antiquing, and cooking. Sarah loved to try new recipes and she was an excellent cook. She will be remembered for her kindness, her professionalism, and her quirky sense of humor.
Sarah was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Harry and Audra Molder of Weaubleau.
She is survived by her devoted husband of the home, Evan S. Miller; her parents, Ron and Cathy Molder of Bolivar; her maternal grandparents, Gineth and Jane Hudson of Bolivar; her mother-in-law, Bonnie Miller of Willard; her father-in-law and wife, Edward and Jamie Miller of Weatherford, Oklahoma; her brother-in-law, Darin Miller of Mt. Vernon; niece and nephews, Cameron Miller, Angel Ladd and Patrick Ladd; uncles, Gineth Lee Hudson (Cheryl) of Ina, Illinois; Dennis Hudson (Diana) of Fort Worth, Texas; and Kevin Hudson (Roxy) of Bolivar, Don Smith (Patsy) of Weaubleau; aunts-in-law, Cindy Smith of Bolivar, Rebekah Williams (Kay) of Dadeville, Leah Blaylock (Mike) of Manford, Oklahoma; and a number of cousins.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 27 at the Bolivar Open Hearts Methodist Church in Bolivar, and a Celebration of Life service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 28, at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to the Polk County Humane Society, Rescue One of Springfield, or the Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation Carrie J. Babb Cancer Center Fund.

I just received a call telling me of Sarah's passing. I was not aware of her health issues as I have become somewhat out of touch with my CMH family. This came as a real shock. I keep thinking of Sarah as a little girl who had grown up to become a beautiful, vibrant young lady and coworker at CMH. Having known her mother Cathy even before she began her career at CMH; I found it interesting to watch Sarah follow close to her mother's career path. I send my heartfelt condolences to all of Sara's family along with prayers for peace, strength and tranquility. With Gods faith and hope. Michael Moore
