Bill Woods Obituary

Bill "Grumpy" Woods, age 69, of Rocheport, passed away May 3, 2010 at the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics.
He was born April 30, 1941 in Boonesboro, Missouri, a son of Phillip and Georgia Wilkerson Woods. Bill and his wife, Betty were married April 29, 1963 in Otterville. Betty survives at their home. He was the last survivor of nine brothers and sisters.
Bill and Betty and their family own and operate Grumpy's BBQ near Rocheport. He was a member of the Rocheport United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Betty of the home; son, Phillip Woods and wife Carol of Boonville; two daughters, Theresa Asher of Armstrong and Sandy Boren of Rocheport. Bill cherished his five grandchildren and great grandchild who survive, Brett and Morgan Woods of Boonville, Toni and Clara Asher of Armstrong, Keota Boren of Rocheport and Bella Asher of Armstrong.
In addition to his parents and brothers and sisters, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Marissa Wyatt.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 6, 2010 at Markland-Yager Funeral Home in New Franklin. Burial will be at Sulphur Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Markland-Yager Funeral Home, P.O. Box 126, New Franklin, Missouri 65274, to assist with his funeral services.
