I cannot even begin to fathom your loss.
Spending time with Alex was a joyful part of the day, his presence and playful antics brightened up the room in an instant.
Watching his interactions with you made it even more special, such a beautiful, close family unit, always up for an adventure. The perfect family for the lovely little boy I got to know.
I pray for you and yours and hope that his strength and light shines through your family forevermore.

Precious Alexander,
I pray that you are at peace and safe looking down upon your grieving parents and filling their hearts with all that you are; peace, love, strength, courage, and pureness. Their unwavering love for you will continue for all of eternity as will your love for them. May your spirit live on, boldly and strongly, through all that knew you. You are so very loved dear Alex, so loved.
Lord, with this candle, please wrap this family in your loving arms and bring them all together, in mind, soul, and spirit, and guide them through these extremely dark challenging times. It is with your love that all things happen.

Words can not explain the sadness I feel in my heart. Especially for the sadness I feel for you family at this difficult time. I am so thankful I was able to be part of Alex's journey and it was amazing to see all the progress he made. Having autism, Alex was anything but typical and that is a blessing as he had the most amazing personality for someone at such a young age. The memories I have with Alex will always be with me. From his many requests for tickles, to his strategic playing of tic tac toe and his love for reading. Alex was extremely lucky to have you as a family and you treated him as you would have any child and did not hold back in life because he had autism. This is truly inspiring and this gave him the opportunity to have many adventures in his life. You will always be in my thoughts and prayers and I hope that time will heal your pain and only leave happy memories of your time with Alex here on earth until you see each other again.

As a total stranger and parent I offer my deepest condolences on your loss. God's plan is so difficult to understand especially in regard to the loss of a child, one so important to us. May the brief but shining memories carry you forward in the days ahead. As Catholics, we must believe that Our Lord will embrace your beautiful child in his arms and whisper " welcome home good and faithful little one." He now lives in eternal peace. God bless you.

"A Alex: Me enseñaste a vivir con un corazón puro."
- "To Alex: You taught me to live with a pure heart."
Alex's memory will always embody the pure expression of knowledge and light from his smiles and laughter to everything in between. He never knew it but he taught me, and many people like me, what it means to be a teacher because of his rambunctious energy and persevering drive to learn. He may have passed on, but he very much remains vibrant and silly in our hearts--especially when we remember his love of focaccia chips!
Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

My family and I had the great pleasure of meeting Alexander this past summer while visiting Tamara and Nate. My twins are close to the same age and the three of them spent the entire evening chasing each other up and down the hallway of the apartment, pretending to be everything from monsters to lions to cowboys. They only paused momentarily to eat some pizza and have grandpa read them a quick book (I have several pictures that I am happy to send along!), then it was back to their games. I will never forget the thundering of their little feet and their shrieks of laughter, and I am so thankful for that moment of friendship between Alexander, Will, and Lyla. They have asked about him many times since then, so I know he made a lasting impression on their little minds and hearts. He was a beautiful soul, full of light and love, and all of the Heinzs are incredibly, deeply sorry for your loss. He will be remembered fondly by all of us! Sending our love.

I remember when we all were at the Cape together and we brought, Dunkin, the black and white cocker spaniel along. The boys and he ran and ran and ran together. I like to think that Dunkin was there, along with Maureen's mother, my mother et al, to greet Alex and bring him into the hereafter and will watch over him in his new home. We love you Alex, Denise, Sasha and Luke!
