GRIECO, Anthony V. Sr. "Tony" Of Stoneham and formerly of Somerville, January 18, 2019. Beloved husband of the late Rosemary (Mardirosian) Grieco. Devoted father of Laura Grieco of Stoneham, Anthony V. Grieco Jr. and his wife Joseline (Dagher) Grieco of Manchester, NH, and Barbara Minnelli and her husband James of Malden. Cherished "Boompa" of Lea Kwong and her husband Henry, Nicole Minnelli, Aviana and Anthony Grieco and great-grandson Nicholas Kwong. Dear brother of Rose Castellucci of Burlington, Sal Grieco of Syracuse, NY, Josephine Biggins and Annmarie Terlizzi both of Franklin, NH and the late Carmella "Chickey" Grieco. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Calling Hours will be held in the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) SOMERVILLE, on Wednesday morning from 10AM -12 noon, followed by a Funeral Home Service at 12:00PM. Relatives and friends invited to attend. Burial will follow at Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge. I am saddened to learn of Tonys passing. I offer my condolences to his family and friends. He and his wife Rosie were idols of mine as I grew up. They were kind and hard-working. I was 14 or 15 when I was babysitting their 3 children, Laura, Anthony and Barbie. Tony and Rosie would go out Tuesday nights, grocery shopping, and I would watch their kids. I sometimes watched the kids on a Saturday night, so the adults could have some fun. The children were always well behaved. During rides back to my house, Tony would always ask what was new with me, what I was doing or some question of interest about me. Tonys sister in law Susie lived in our downstairs aparment for a number of years with her two boys, and his other sister in law, Eileen, babysat me, and my siblings when we were too young to be left alone. So there was a history with this family while I was growing up. Life took me away from that area, but it never took the fond memories of such a kind man and a loving family. So very sorry for your loss.
