BARBARA J. ARGENTO

ARGENTO, Barbara J. Of West Boylston and Worcester, passed away peacefully on Nov. 22, at age 92. She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Nicholas "Nick" Argento; and her brother, PFC John D. Kelleher, who was killed during the Korean War. She leaves her three children: Paula of Washington, D.C., Nicholas, Jr. of Westborough, and Maria and her husband Walter Perkins of Cotuit; sisters, Kathleen Kelleher and Sister Paula Kelleher SSJ, both of Worcester. Born in Worcester, daughter of William and Catherine (O'Connor) Kelleher. Graduate of Saint Peter's High School and Worcester State Teachers College. Taught elementary school at Burncoat Elementary in Worcester. For many years, worked alongside her husband as the business manager for Nick Argento's Market, Worcester. She was a member of the Guild of Our Lady of Providence, volunteered at the Free Medical Center, St. Bernard's Church, Worcester. A member of the Friday Afternoon Club, a Catholic women's service organization. After the market closed, Barbara worked for several years at Sullivan, Garrity, & Donnelly Insurance. She and Nick traveled extensively in retirement with the Greendale Retired Men's Club. She was a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, West Boylston. Calling Hours, Monday, Dec. 2, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., WORCESTER. Funeral Tues., Dec. 3, with Mass in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church,111 Worcester St., West Boylston, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester.
