Bernard Vaughan FALLON Ed.D

FALLON, Bernard Vaughan Ed.D Age 86, formerly of Cheshire, MA, passed away on August 2, 2022, at Calvary Hospital in Bronx, NY. The cause was complications from Alzheimer's disease and COVID-19. Bernard was born in Quincy, MA, on August 20, 1935, to George Fallon and Phyllis (Vaughan) Fallon. Bernard was captain of the football team and graduated from North Quincy High School, before serving in the United States Navy. He graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service, then later received four graduate degrees including Doctor of Education at Northeastern University. His career in education included teaching history and serving as assistant principal at Hingham High School, assistant superintendent of Hampshire Regional School District, then from 1988-1998 superintendent of schools for Adams-Cheshire Regional School District. He was particularly proud of helping to secure state funding for four different, major school reconstruction projects that continue to provide long-lasting, high-quality facilities for the education of students. In his youth, he was an avid sailor, swimmer, and downhill skier with his brothers, sisters, and their children. For more than 25 years he was a parishioner at Cheshire's St. Mary of the Assumption. Bernard was predeceased by his wife of 40 years, Eleanor Desmond Fallon, by his brothers George Fallon, Jr., John Fallon, Charles Fallon, James Fallon, and sisters Patricia O'Doherty, Sheila Burke, and Maureen Baron. Bernard is survived by his children Eleanor M. Fallon of New York City, and Bernard V. Fallon, Jr. of Washington, DC, as well as by brother Thomas Fallon of Davie, FL. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Mary of the Hills Church, 29 Saint Mary's Road, Milton, on Friday, August 12, at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. No separate Visitation Hours are scheduled.
