Dan was my mentor during my clinical training, and he selflessly steered me to a lab across town to do my research training. In so doing, he provided a foundation for a career I still enjoy. I will never forget his kindness, his wisdom, his sense of irony, his wry sense of humor and his modest brilliance.

Dan Shannon was a mentor of mine at Harvard Medical School. I owed him a great deal and tried to visit him while in Boston but couldn´t remember his address. He helped many people in his lifetime. Many, like me, wish they could have appropriately thanked him.
