I served with Dave at PhuCat Air Base in Vietnam 1970-71. Last time I saw him was in the 1980's. We connected Vietnam because we were both air traffic controllers and from Mass. I just decided to look him up and was saddened to hear he passed away. I didn't know he worked for the VA. I also worked for the VA and retired after 32 years in 2012. How ironic. He was a great guy during our tour in Vietnam. I was at Phu Cat before him and when I left Phu Cat on March 3,1971 I was sitting in a C130 on my way to Cam Ranh Bay to ship home. We had just taken off when one of the crew started looking at name tags. He stopped and said someone wants to talk to you. I went up to the pilot and he handed me his headset. It was Dave and the other controllers saying goodby and wishing me well. I have never forgotten that.
I haven't talked or seen him in years but as long as I am alive I will never forget him. We had lots of great times at Phu Cat. Miss you bud.

I knew David at Brookline High School - we had reconnected only recently when he found me on FB. He was one of the really good guys. I will forever remember his smile. May his memory be a blessing to all who are suffering his loss.

I first met David in high school in Brookline 1965. We lost touch along the way, but after many years thanks to an old aquaintance and social media were able to reconnect. It was like time had never passed.
I will miss you my old friend. Rest with the angels

I wanted to know if this is the David Colton who grew up on Winthrop Rd. If so , we were childhood friends. I remember his love if Tennis at Dean Rd Park. He also came with me and my family to Montreal for a few days in the 60's. My sympathies to his family.
