Earl Ashworth

Of Sarasota, Florida, died on April 21, 2004. He was the beloved husband of 64 years to the late Gladys (Brown). Earl was a self made man who eventually owned several heel companies before his retirement in 1975. He was an avid golfer and was past president of the Haverhill Country Club. He was also past president of Temple Emanuel in Haverhill. A Sarasota resident for 29 years, he was a volunteer at the Sarasota Memorial Hospital and a member of the Longboat Key Club. Survivers include his daughter, Linda Weine, of Pittsfield, MA, his sons, Gerald and his wife Jeanne of York, Maine, and Peter and his wife Louise of Tucson, Arizona. He was also beloved "Papa Honey" to six grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. A memorial service was held on April 23rd in Sarasota. Donations in his memory may be made to the Diabetes Foundation.
