FRANCIS CONNORS Obituary

CONNORS, Francis J. Aged 75 years, of Jamaica Plain passed away peacefully, on May 28, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Martha Meaney of Jamaica Plain; and the cherished son of the late Francis J. Connors, Sr. and Helen (Joan) Dixon Connors of Milton, MA. Frank was born in Boston in 1949, spent his youth in Boston, New Jersey and Milton and has lived in Jamaica Plain for more than forty years. He graduated from Thayer Academy in Braintree in 1968, completed his Bachelor's degree in 1972 at Boston College and earned his Master's in Education from Boston University. He taught in the Newton Public School System for many years. Frank loved the beach, boating, traveling and Ireland. To that end, he and Martha explored the islands of Boston Harbor and the beauties of Long Island Sound, spent numerous summers on Nantucket and a couple of decades on the Sheep's Head peninsula in West Cork, Ireland. They also traveled to many other venues in the U.S., Canada and Europe. Known for his quick wit and steadfast loyalty, Frank was an excellent friend to have and hold dear. Music, sports and building projects flushed out a busy and fulfilled life. Running was a passion. He was a regular around Jamaica Pond, entered the Doyle's Road Race every year and was quite proud of completing the Boston Marathon. He faithfully followed all Boston sports teams and was an avid fan of BC Hockey. He enjoyed music all his life as he grew up in the sixties and seventies: interesting times, indeed and the friendships formed during those years have happily stood the test of time. In moving to JP in the mid-eighties, he added new friends and neighbors to his wide circle. He will be sorely missed by so many. In addition to his wife, Martha; Frank leaves his in-laws, Kathleen Meaney, Weston, MA, Maureen Dietze, Williamstown, MA, Joseph and Renee Meaney, Waterford, CT and John Meaney of Tucson, AZ; several nieces and nephews, godchildren and many cousins and friends. We are deeply grateful to the doctors, nurses, pharmacists and staff at Beth Israel Hospital, Atrius Health (especially Dr. Renee McKinney) and Hebrew Senior Life for their care and support and to Frank's very special friend and aide, Isimail. Visiting Hours at the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre St., WEST ROXBURY, on Friday, June 6, from 4 to 7 pm. Dear Martha,
So sorry to learn about Frank's death. He was such a good sport and I often think of our times together in Ireland.
Let's talk soon. I wish you the very best
