Raising six children through the 60's & 70's, widowed in 1982, "Gen" persisted through her fair share of challenges in the spirit of the early Colonial American settlers for whom she had such fascination and admiration. She was resourceful and indomitable. Certain things she could not tolerate to be sure and she was not shy about speaking her mind. But she was mostly a kind and courteous person to all she encountered. She loved a good laugh. She enjoyed the friends she made in the work place (until age 72) and her Walpole neighbors. I think her brief time working for the Walpole School system Media Services Department at the Old Fisher School was among her most enjoyable of work experiences. It was a good time of life and the crew of local women working in Media Services at the time was fun and mutually supportive. It's funny to recall her riding off on her red moped to work. Gen mostly preferred a simple, quiet life at her home in Walpole where she could host family and indulge her creativity. She loved her home and had personal interests that kept her busy but family was everything to her. She was always there to help each and every one of her children. She took great joy in her grand children. We have many fond remembrances and we are so thankful for her love and kindness. We will miss you Mom!
