In the late 1960s I had a part time position in Dr. Yerganian's Jimmy Fund lab while I was a student at Emmanuel College. I did routine lab chores, but Dr. Yerganian gave me the opportunity to do a summer research internship that made a huge difference in my life. I went on to grad school and now head a research group at the NIH where I still work on a cell line developed by Dr. Yerganian. I will always be grateful to him for these opportunities and for his mentorship. May he rest in peace.

I knew Dr. Yerganian only through his outstanding son, Arra. His son's admiration for his father is boundless. Lucky for both of them.

I had the privilege of meeting George at Brandeis and learning all about his career and experiencing his passion for science as the means to better hmanity. He was truly a pioneer, and so many patients have been saved both directly and indirectly because of his contributions to biomedical research. An incredible legacy. My profound condolences to the family, especially Athena. I hope that you wlll find joy and comfort in the good memories.
