JOHN FINNERTY

FINNERTY, John Of Monterey, CA, formerly of Arlington, MA, died peacefully July 21, 2014. Preceeded in death by his wife of 58 years, Eleanor M. Finnerty (Gaddis). John leaves behind his beloved children Kathleen Chanliau, William Finnerty, Patricia Rossi, Susan Finnerty, Mark Finnerty & his wife Lora ; & his cherished grandchildren Sarah, Timothy Rossi, Vanessa, Pierre & Jessica Chanliau & Kelly Finnerty. Born in Somerville, MA, John was raised in Arlington & graduated Arlington High School. Following high school John worked for AT&T until joining the Army at the beginning of WWII. After returning from the war John worked for AT&T for 40 yrs. John was the Commissioner of the EMSOA & President of IAABO. John also owned Finnerty's Sporting Goods, Cambridge, MA. He was an avid golfer, member of Marshfield Golf Course & Lexington Golf Club. John & his wife Eleanor lived in Arlington, MA until moving to Monterey, CA in 2011. He will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure to have known him. Services to be held in Monterey, CA.
