JOHN L. SENNOTT

SENNOTT, John L. Of Winthrop, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2023, just a few months short of his 80th birthday. John was the longtime loving companion of Christine O'Brien. Born in Cambridge, he was the cherished son of the late George and Katherine (Langton) Sennott. John worked for many years as a bank examiner for the Commonwealth of MA, and then as a bank executive and loan officer in various Massachusetts community banks. In later years, John owned and operated a small business (Showcase Laundromat) in Winthrop, with many devoted customers and employees, until retiring again last year. John was the devoted father of John ("Jack") L. Sennott, Jr. and his wife Donna of Simsbury, CT, Kevin Sennott and his wife Colleen of Warwick, RI, and Heather and Kelly Sennott, both of Winthrop. He was the adored grandfather ("Papa") of Katherine, Rachel, Brian, Anna and Elizabeth Sennott and Alanna Hernandez and her husband Antonio, Kevin Sennott and his longtime companion Anna Doten, and Samantha Legere and her husband Anthony; and loving great-grandfather of Sadie Grace Legere. Dear brother of the late George Sennott. John was the former husband of Grace M. (Conway) Sennott of Winthrop. A resident of Winthrop for over 60 years, John leaves many friends, nieces, and nephews, both in Winthrop and in Florida. A Funeral Service will be held in the Maurice W. Kirby Funeral Home, 210 Winthrop St., WINTHROP, on Thursday, July 27, at 10AM. Relatives and friends are invited. Interment will be in Winthrop Cemetery (Belle Isle Section).
